Novacare is a functional medicine center dedicated to women going through the decade of transitions. A coordinated care team, long consultations, and continuous support — to finally connect what others examine in silos.
The observation
For twelve years in practice, I saw a stream of women between 35 and 60 with the same symptoms: fatigue that won't go away , digestive disorders that take hold, hormones going off track.
They were sent home with fifteen minutes of consultation and three prescriptions. A gastroenterologist looked at the gut. A gynecologist looked at hormones. A psychiatrist looked at mood. No one looked at the whole.
Yet the hormonal, digestive and nervous axes function together . This has been documented for twenty years in medical literature. And this is what a meta-analysis I contributed to, at INSERM Bordeaux, has come to confirm.
But in a private practice, time is lacking. Coordination is lacking. Tools are lacking. And women, they continue to suffer in silence.
The turning point
A few months ago, a patient thanked me. She was 48. She was emerging from several years of burnout. I had referred her to a program combining physiotherapy, Chinese medicine and naturopathy. She was finding her footing again, she felt more at peace , she slept better.
She thought I had saved her. I had only done my job.
But what she told me that day haunted me for months. She wasn't thinking about her career. She wasn't thinking about herself. She was thinking about her six-year-old daughter. In her family, several people had passed very early. And her fear, it wasn't illness. It was not being there to see her grow up .
That day, I understood. This work I had done for her, many other women around me had not received it.
And I decided to open a place for them.
Why Novacare
I have two daughters, and a wife.
I wanted to build a place where I could be certain they would find the best possible care, the day they need it. A place where time is taken. Where care is coordinated. Where people truly listen.
